Introducing...

The Ballerina Butterfly Princess!

She came down the stairs and very sweetly said:
"Please bow to me."
And of course, I did. How could I not be thankful for these little moments of personality?

The good and the bad...

Kami: I have good news and I have bad news.
Me: What's the good news?
Kami: I'm here.
Me: What's the bad news?
Kami: We're out of soap.

Good to know.

What's up?

OK, now I know I have been slipping.

What have we done since the last update? We went with Aaron and Jennifer, and their kids to the pumpkin patch on Saturday. We went to the cider mill, and boy was it commercialized!! Even parking cost $2. Pretty sad really, when you consider that they had very few pumpkins, and those that weren't smashed or going rotten, really weren't eligible for carving since they couldn't stand up straight.

Then we all came back to the house and let the kids play, ate some dinner, and watched a movie. Not a great movie, but fun anyways. Jason then offered to let all the kids stay the night (3 more girls and a boy), for a total of 7 kids. The sweetheart that he is though, he offered to sleep on the living room floor, so I could get a good nights rest. Remember, this was mid-term weekend, and I still had another test to take, but I wanted to get a little more studying in first.

Long story short, I took my test a few hours before the deadline and everything turned out fine, but I was fuming a bit that he took it upon himself to offer our house and everything in it for a bunch of crazy (cute, but crazy) kids. And two hours of hard-core test taking just isn't possible with that many kids around.

Kylee is going to Oregon with a friend this weekend to see High School Musical on Ice. She is super excited, and so am I. I think she is going to have a great time, and she deserves some time to hang out with her friend. The other two girls are going to stay the night at my parent's house, so Jason and I can have some time together (with NO kids). Pretty neat, I must say.

That's all for now, time to get girls in bed.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know!

It's been over a week, I'm slipping a bit, aren't I?

Midterm week...been pretending to study, no need to really. But it would be very disappointing to take the exam and say "If only I had studied more."

Kids are fabulous. We had Kearstin's conference today, and it didn't go so well. She has a new teacher, as in only his 2nd year teaching. Not the best fit for a kid that is wonderfully sweet and funny, but highly sensitive at the same time. He may think that he is joking around with her, but really I fear he is scarring her for life since this is her first male teacher. Hubby has convinced me to try him a little longer and that she may actually suffer more damage by moving her to a different classroom just as she is getting adjusted. I sure hope he is right.

Kameryn has been crawling into bed with us every night for about two weeks. I am about to take a day off from work just to sleep without elbows and knees poking me. Just kidding, but boy is it tempting. She is so cuddly and still has that toddler smell (dirt and cookies), I usually end up holding her as tight as I can. I am very much going to miss this stage, and since there are no more little ones coming, I should enjoy it while I can, right?

Well, basketball starts for Kylee this weekend. This is her last year for recreational, next year she has to play competitive if she wants to play. Unfortunately, she has inherited my athletic ability, so this may be her last year, period. Too bad, because she really does enjoy it.

Off to bed...Jason just came down to remind me to sleep.

Challenge

At Owlhaven, she challenged her readers to upload the 6th image from the 6th file folder of the pictures on their computers. This is mine...

My beautiful niece, Caley. She was only about 6 at this time, and we had gone to my brother's to help him level the backyard in his new house. It was great spending time with them, since they live about 2 hours away from us, we only see them about 3 or 4 times a year. And there are usually other people around. Good memories.

Another Kami quote

"My identity is in my brain, no I mean my noggin. But I don't know Spanish."

Imagine that in a cute 3 year old voice, and fall in love all over again.

One of those kinds of weekends...

It's raining outside, and pretty miserable, but inside is warm and cozy. I spend the weekend just finishing up some projects that I had in the works. I finished up some place mats for the table, and a chair that I was refinishing for the living room. Worked on some stools for my craft room, and attempted to do as little housework as possible.

Oh, and played "catch the vomit" with a 3 year old. That game didn't last long (thankfully), but I felt pretty bad for her when the score reached 4-1 (I caught it 4 times, and only missed once). The game continued for a while longer, but then a long nap ended it, and we were on to something else.

Back to work tomorrow, but at least I don't sell Kirby vacuums like the poor guy who came to the door. He really, really tried to convince me that he needed to do a presentation of the Kirby, but I wasn't falling for it. Like to the point where I had to get forceful and tell him that he needed to leave or I was calling the cops. Pretty sad really.

That's all for now. :)

Custom made

Two days a week, we pick up a friend of Kylee's and drive her to school with us. She is a wonderfully sweet girl and tells very smart jokes. Well, Kameryn decided to make up her own joke to tell the friend this morning. Here is goes:

What is high in the sky but you can't see it?

We all guessed, for quite some time actually...a bird, the sun, the stars, the moon, air...on and on and on.

After letting us suffer, she says "An airplane in the clouds."

Pretty smart for a three year old.
