What?!?!?

She is officially 11 now. Yes, this post is a few days late, but better late then never, right?

She has passed the "kid" stage and is now a preteen. And living up to every bit of it with the mocking attitude and the sly looks that implies she is sharing a secret with us that the "little" kids don't know. (Whatever it is, I wish she would tell me).

No more frilly dressing up, putting on anything that might be pretty, and the more the outfit clashes, the more it is judged as a success.

Gone are the gap tooth smiles, and bedhead hair. Now she runs and hides whenever I get the camera out.

She does, however, still like posing with a fish...what's up with that?

Happy Birthday, darling!!

Kameryn (again)

Tonight I told her that it was bedtime, and she says "But I'm not sleeping".

What comes first, the chicken or the egg?

More Kami stories

Jason has taught Kameryn the lovely "Give me knuckles" instead of high fives. Cute and innocent, right? Then he used the term "knuckle sandwiches." So we now have a 3 year old that thinks it's ok to eat a fist wrapped in bread. She has been going around the house offering all of us a knuckle sandwich.

Hmmmm, maybe we should explain what a knuckle sandwich is?

Sqeaking with friends

Kameryn was outside playing with her friends, and came running in to get some little plastic animals that squeak (we got them at the zoo last weekend). Well in the middle of trying to say something, she looks at me and says "I know, humans can be in the game. Humans can squeak!" Then off she went to squeak with her friends.

I have nothing...

I really don't have anything interesting to write about. We are pretty lazy around here today.

I had to get Kylee out of bed at 6:30 (on a weekend, oh my), to go the eye doctor. She is starting a new session of her lens reshaping contacts, so we had to go in for the first day checkup. Basically, the lenses reshape your eyes while you sleep, so during the day, you don't have to wear glasses or contacts. The result is only temporary, though, so they have to worn every night. I think she is excited, we'll see how well they work.

School is still pretty boring. Hmmm, the semester is already in week 3 and we really haven't done or learned anything new. It's a bit discouraging.

I think I am going to go relax in the back yard with a book and a cold drink. Haven't done that in a while...

Zoo

We ended up going to the zoo over the weekend. And I think we had a great time. We didn't see all the animals (the tigers were hiding and the polar bears didn't want to play), but we did see the beluga whale show. It was pretty interesting.

And here's another one...

It was fun for all, and we got to enjoy some beautiful weather. I am going to miss the summer. Well, actually, there is fun stuff to do in the winter as well, so I am sure that when next summer comes, I'll be saying that I miss the winter. I guess we'll see then.

More Mamma Mia!

I couldn't resist. :)

Meryl Steep is amazing, who knew she could sing, too?

Amanda Seyfried isn't bad, either.

Sure, every time I am at the beach with my hubby, lots of strange guys come out of the water and watch. Ha, ha. This is really the only "racy" part of the film, though.

I really am considering going to see it again. Maybe it'll come out on video before Christmas.

Something else...

I just got done with the last post, then a song came up on my IPod that got me wondering...am I insane for liking the movie "Mamma Mia!"? I have seen it twice, and since I only go to about 3 or 4 movies a YEAR, that is saying a lot. I also bought the soundtrack, and really like the songs. Some more than others, but I really like them all.

Maybe I should go see it again...

Update

Very obviously, I am still surviving. Actually, my classes are quite mild compared to my last quarter at BCC. I hope they get a little more exciting as we get further into the quarter, because right now, I'm actually getting a little bored. And anybody that knows me, knows that I need to be challenged to remain interested.

I also started a new position at work. It's as a team leader, which means that I get to handle all the personnel related stuff...coachings, and dialogues, and schedules and all that jazz. It's only for two other employees (one is only part time). My manager went part time, and promised to give it six months before she decides to officially retire. We'll see what happens. I have also been told that we are expecting to hire another person in the beginning of 2009, and that person would report to me as well.

It's almost 6:30 in the morning, and all the kiddos are still sleeping. Yesterday, I was playing with the idea of taking them to the zoo today, but then Kameryn gave me her cold (she loves sharing things with me), and I am a bit under the weather. I keep hoping that things will turn around, and everybody will pop out of bed and be ready for a fun day. I haven't said anything to the kids, though, so we'll see how the morning goes. Jason has had some insane hours the last couple of days, so he won't be going with us, so I need to make sure that I really, REALLY, want to go, or I may go crazy.

Well, that's about it. Later.
