Yukon Gold

Utterly adorable!!!

Not quite six weeks old, but very sweet.

Wish he would sleep a little more at night, but he is way too cute!

Yukon has been here about 4 days, and he is doing so well. He has his days and nights mixed up, but we are working on that. He plays so well with the girls, and is learning that grass is for going potty on.
Hopefully by the end of the weekend, his hours will be straightened out. :)

A day of thanks...

Things that I am thankful for:

First and foremost - My Family. As crazy and wild as we are at times, I wouldn't change a thing. I fall asleep each night and wake up each morning just marveling at how amazing my husband is, and in disbelief about how truly perfect the kiddos are (in their own special way).

Our health. Aside from the "normal" stuff that every family goes through, we all are expected to be around for quite some time. And that is a very good thing.

Enough with the sappy stuff.

I am thankful that we have decent enough jobs to be able to afford our toys. And I am thankful that our life isn't so chaotic that we lose track of the simple things in life. And I am truly thankful for the alcohol in the fridge that makes it possible to endure LARGE family gatherings with a smile on my face. :)

1st Semester at WSU nears an end

Took to first of my finals last night. My first semester at WSU is almost over. Well not for another two weeks, but close, nonetheless.

I got my official degree from BCC in the mail this weekend. It's only an Associate, but it's a degree, YEAH.

I just finished the fourth book of the Twilight series, and it was an interesting read. The characters are intriguing and the story flows nicely. No big twists or "AHA" moments, but I enjoyed it. And for a teenage series, they handled the s*x part very nicely. No details, and they were married first. Maybe I'll go see the movie tonight. :)

Now the preparation for Christmas begins. Decorations, handmade projects, names are drawn, and stress galore! Sounds like fun, right. Jason wants to make "Pot People" for ourselves this year, since we didn't keep any when we made them a few years ago. I am trying to stay out of it, and he is trying to draw me in, so we'll see who wins. I have other things that I want to work on, though, but I feel guilty for not helping him. In the end, I'll end up doing them, or coaching him through the whole process. I know he can handle it, but he really needs the reassurance that he is doing it right.

We've been in this house for a year now. I still have so much decorating that I want to do...someday. I may paint a bathroom or something next weekend, we'll see. I guess I really should put up some curtains (no stress, we have blinds up). What I really want is to build a workstation in my craft room. I'm hoping that I can start working on that soon.

That's all, pretty uneventful.

She's 4!

My baby doll is now a 4 year old. I am having a hard time fathoming how quickly the time has flown by. Maybe because she is my last, but I want to treasure every moment.

She is such a happy girl. Always a smile on her face.

She is also very curious...nothing was safe once she decided to explore.

And we quickly learned to close the dryer door immediately, or this would happen.

Always the cool girl, wearing shades.

She still likes to dress up, but we now have full body costumes.

And now she's 4.

Happy Birthday, Kameryn!

Picture heavy!

Basketball has begun...
Good lay up form on that one.

Ummm, maybe she needs a little more practice. :)

Look at that reach for the free throw. She is doing really well this year, and is on a great team. They all support each other, and the parents are very friendly. This is going to be a fun year. :)

Birthday surprise

Kami's birthday was Wednesday, but we are holding off celebrating until tomorrow when all the grandparents and aunts and uncles can be here, too. But today, we surprised her and took the kids to see Madagascar 2 at the IMAX theatre. They were surprised, but I think they enjoyed it. :)

Visitor

When we got home this evening, we had a visitor waiting for us...
This frog was HUGE! Like the size of my fist. So big that the cat didn't want to get too close. The cat that brought a snake, a bird, and a few other rodents into the house to play with. Yeah, that big.

Then we noticed something a little strange...look closely at the mouth.

Yes, that big frog ATE a little frog. And to make it worse, the little frog was kicking the whole time I was taking pictures.

I actually like frogs, but this guy was too big for me to even think about picking up. So I ended the day allowing the murder of a sweet innocent little frog...cannibalism in its most natural form.

Just because...

The last few posts have been pretty negative.

Here is something that makes me smile:

Kami on her 3rd birthday

Kearstin on her 3rd birthday

And Kylee on her 3rd birthday.

A little bit of a resemblance. :)

Election

So we have a new president...am I excited?

No, not really. I didn't really care if it was Obama or McCain. I don't think either one is what our country needs, and I really don't believe that either one would or will last four years. That is a bad thing to say, but in my heart, it is really what I believe.

I am excited that enough of our country has been able to move past the skin color of the candidates and see the person inside. This was a historical election, one that will be remembered always, and always used as a precedence.

Why am I so uncaring? I am embarrassed at how the whole campaign was run, on both sides. So much mud slinging, and so little about any type of accomplishment that either side made. Maybe I was ignorant four years ago, but I truly don't remember it being like this. I tried doing research on both sides, but all I could really find is the negative. I wanted to know what they have done and what they could do, not what they didn't do, or how they lied about what they did, or the fact that they really didn't have experience, or the fact that they had the wrong kind of experience. Just give me simple facts, and let me decide!

That's all for now...

Proof

Yes, I can cook. See, here is the apple crisp as proof.

Kylee was wondering why I was taking a picture of her half eaten plate, but here it is.

We didn't have any apple juice, so I used Cranberry Sprite instead. The flavor is a little different, but it still tastes good.

Maybe I should cook more often.

Halloween is OVER!!!

Ummm, not really a fan of Halloween. It's fun for the kids though, so I play along.

We ended up with Cleopatra...

Gabriella from High School Musical...

and a Princess Fairy...

All together, a sweet crew.

Way too much candy, they'll be eating it until Easter.
We were expecting to get quite a few Trick-or-Treaters, since it is a new development, but we had a grand total of 6. So adding our leftover candy to the bunch means a sugar high that will never end.
Off to make apple crisp before the apples go bad.
